Brushwood are always a good attraction here at Quickdraw. The attendance was excellent, Brushwood were fantastic and they honored Quickdraw by releasing their new album at the event. Their new CD is of course is very good with most tracks already choreographed by such as Kate Sala and Lizie Clarke

Christmas comes but once a year, but if the Christmas Party is as good as this one it can come as often as it wants. The Thillbillies played to a sell-out audience, the food was great and the QuickDraw Hillbillies (Charlie and George) provided a brilliant cabaret. The raffle was the biggest yet with TVs, cd players, spirits and many other prizes on offer. A fantastic end to a truly memorable year for QuickDraw - Long may it prosper !!!!

Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year to all.

Saturday 29th October saw Quickdraw hosting its Halloween Party at the St james Club rather than the Cotton Club, but this did not mean it was anything less than the nights we had come to expect - far from it. People we encouraged to come dressed appropriately and to decorate their tables - and they did just that !!. The standard was fantastic. The Music was provided by Calico - always guaranteed to make any event special, and Charlie provided the disco between sets in his usual professional standard. Add to this the usual extensive raffle and you have the ultimate recipe (or should we say brew ?) to make a memorable night. Well done the Quickdraw team yet again !!

Saturday 18th of June was a special night for QuickDraw in many ways - Primarily because George and Gill, as well as Charlie and Lynda were celebrating 25 years of marriage. We all wish to congratulate them on achieving this milestone (millstone ??) and wish them every happiness for the next 25 years. By way of celebrating this event the four of them arranged a special night for their friends and relatives at the Cotton Club in Northampton. They promised us something really special and lived up to their promise. As well as decorating the hall superbly, providing refreshments for everyone, and putting on a disco, we were all really surprised when Charlie introduced the live entertainment - THE DEANS - playing in their only club gig in the UK during 2005. They were fantastic and certainly lived up to their reputation. A memorable night for all the right reasons ! Thanks again from us all and we look forward to the next one in 2030.

What else can be said about a night being entertained by Speed Limit ? You want to dance ? fantastic - You want to listen ? - superb You want to be entertained ? - absolutely !!!
Yet another great night at Quickdraw - packed house, packed floor, great raffle and up-to-the-minute disco, combined with the excellence of Speed Limit - honestly, what more could you ask.
Well done QuickDraw team yet again !!

It was a great night for us when Chris mezza came to entertain us. For us, it was well worth the trip from the Isle of Wight, as he played to a full house and kept the floor packed at all times .Despite his austere appearance he played with warmth and showed his undisputed ability, for he not only supplies his own backing tracks he suggested the dance and called it in as well. Charlie's raffle was easily up to its high standard, in fact, all in all a brilliant night. Hopefully we will be re-booking him for 2006.

A "red letter" day for QuickDraw. As a club we decided we wanted to aid the Tsunami appeal, and the forthcoming appearance of Vegas gave us the platform to do this. A SPECIAL night was announced and it proved to be just that. A bumper raffle was organized eclipsing anything that we had run before - TV, cd players, steam cleaner, prizes galore. We had sold out of tickets days before the event showing how popular the cause was. All the proceeds from the event were going to the appeal and to thank our members a "cabaret" was prepared for their entertainment. A rather special rendition of the dance "you are no angel" was performed by three club members (whose identities still remain "shrouded" in secrecy) dressed as angels - heavenly it was NOT, but entertaining it certainly was. The resulting amount that was donated to the charity exceeded £500. A fantastic result for the evening and our thanks go to all who helped organise the event but especially to all of you that gave so freely and generously - thank you.

What a start to the New Year for QuickDraw. The New Years party was really one to remember !! Brushwood - new to most of us, proved to be an outstanding act. Their motto "Country music to dance to" was truly accurate. Every song was danced to, they played standards, their own material (whilst calling the dance), and all the latest dances going around the circuit - truly well done, Brushwood. Charlie promptly booked them for next year. An excellent turn out enjoyed another typical memorable QuickDraw social.

What a brilliant way to end a fantastic year for QuickDraw. The Christmas party was really one to remember !! There was festive fare in the form of a "western buffet" (so much food !!) there was top line entertainment from Plain Loco, but above all there was excellent company. Everybody entered into the party spirit in true QuickDraw tradition. The raffle was outstanding with over 30 prizes including a tv/dvd unit and a cd system. A GREAT WAY TO FINISH THE MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR FOR QUICKDRAW YET - and we can assure you of greater things to come.

On Saturday 13th November, Far Cotton WMC hosted a "western day", ran and organised by Quickdraw. It was a great day - It started at 3.00pm with fun, games and dancing primarily for the younger members, but its fair to say that the adults that were present got just as much enjoyment out of it as the children did. There were prizes galore with all the children being successful at something. A Bar-B-Que was provided for those present during the afternoon.
The evenings entertainment started at 7.00pm with a Disco ran ably by Charlie, although he was hampered somewhat being on crutches following an unusual variation whilst dancing to "Fields of Gold" the night before. (we all wish you a speedy recovery !!). Pedro provided the live entertainment, and was up to his usual very high standard, filling the floor the whole evening. Pedro's mix of songs proved just perfect for the mix of established dancers and Far Cotton WMC members that were present. And as if that wasn't enough, the evening was made perfect by a superb Bar-B-Que very well presented by George and Gill (who were standing out in the very cold night air for most of the night - again thanks to you both) consisting of burgers and sausages maintaining the western day theme. The usual brilliant raffle followed (becoming a feature of Quickdraw events) and finally prizes were awarded to the best dressed adult cowboy and cowgirl.
Another GREAT night !!!!

Halloween Night coincided with a planned Sunday Disco, so what better than a "Halloween Disco". With a record number for a Sunday Disco, the people that attended really did us proud. Everyone entered into the "spirit" of the evening with costumes abounding, pumpkins a'plenty, and tables decorated with everything associated with the "witching night". There were prizes for best decorated tables, for "apple bobbing" and the usual themed quiz and with the raffle as abundant as ever, ensured something for everyone. Gill taught a dance that got everyone on the floor (at least to start with) and Charlie had a new toy to make comments with. Brilliant night - enjoyed by all - thanks to all who participated.

Dave Sheriff is guaranteed to provide a memorable evening whenever and wherever he appears and he certainly didn't disappoint us last night. Playing to a capacity crowd he held us all captivated with his professionalism and charisma. The dance floor was packed nearly all night, save for a "sing along" session which raised the roof. Add to a program of dances which almost everyone could dance to, a performance which included Dave playing five different instruments, and an animated teach of a dance called "Paddy's Reel" which "most" people managed, and you have the elements of a night we will all remember. Charley provided the Disco to his usual impeccable standard and there was a bumper raffle. It was nice to see so many friends there and a special mention must go to Gerry who attended in her "chariot" and personally thanked all who had helped her during her illness.
Dave stayed around after his session to sign autographs and have his photo taken with many of his fans. Quickdraw again proved its commitment to provide the very best acts and we wish to thank you for your continued support.

They said they were good - and they certainly lived up to the expectation. The "Hayley Sisters" were at Far Cotton on th 21st August and provided a fantastic night that kept dancers and listeners enthused all night. The Hayleys played both old and new, standards and originals, yet still managed to fill the floor all evening. A truly friendly group whose warmth and expertise carried the night. Charlie provided a "cheese and wine" themed raffle which proved a great success - so much so that even Kate won a prize. It was nice to see so many new faces as well as old familiar ones. Quickdraw again came up trumps bringing the best groups to what is fast becoming the best Country Music and Line dance venue in the county. The management promised to bring the Hayleys back just as soon as we can fit them in to what is already an star packed line up for 2005.

On the 3rd July we welcomed "WANTED", a three piece country band from the West midlands. True to their name we "wanted" for nothing. The group played dances both old and new, literally filling the floor with most of over 90 visitors. The raffle again living up to the very high standard now expected from Quickdraw proved very popular with over 20 excellent prizes as well as a strangely named "booby prize" of a superb CD clock radio. There was an interesting slant to the night with over 70 "wanted" posters portraying most of the club members and guests displayed around the room - nice one Charlie. The event again showed the commitment from Quickdraw to bring the best in Country and Line Dance Music to the area.

Little Rock - a three piece group from the North East entertained us royally on the first of May. The boys played live (no backing tracks here !!) with music we could all dance to all night long. Along with Charlie's disco there was little time to sit down all evening - apart from Gill's teach of "Sit in Line" which taxed everybody's co-ordination. The event was an unprecedented success with well over a hundred people enjoying the entertainment. The raffle was as comprehensive as usual with a "booby" prize of a cd/radio. Quickdraw is going from strength to strength, thanks to the fantastic support from management and dancers alike. Well done to all concerned.

A Typical Class night - Just a few photos taken at a recent Class night - well not quite typical - it was Charlie's Birthday (he's not saying how old, but I have it on reliable information that he won't see 30 again !!!). Gill also taught "sit in line" to hilarious results, but it was that sort of a night.

Shoot the Rooster - The feathers quite literally flew as we were treated to a brilliant night by a fantastic duo "Shoot the Rooster". The guys played all the dances we expected to dance to, and as you would expect the floor was full all night. There was the usual superb raffle with the table being filled with prizes as well as a door prize. A very enjoyable night, but there again that is what we have come to expect from Quickdraw !!!

Valentines Night 2004 - To celebrate Valentines night we asked everyone to come dressed in red - and did they just !!! the floor at times was a sea of red. The live music was provided by the Thrillbillies (or Thrill BIKES as the local paper named them) and Charlie did a fantastic job on the Disco. Eddie and Dave, the Thrillbillies, did three sets, all of them filling the floor, and including several spots where Eddie serenaded the "ladies in red"from the floor. It was a "thriiling" night that ended all too quickly.

Our second disco, our first event in the new year, took place on 25th January at the Cotton Club. Although not heavily attended due to the time of year, it was made up for by the enthusiasm and energy of the people who did attend. There was plenty of room to dance as well as a certainty of your request being played. There was even an international flavour with some guests from "north of the border". The raffle was a great success with an even chance of winning a prize - even K8 won a prize (almost unheard of !!). This event promised much for the future.

This is our first Sunday Disco. It was held at the Cotton Club and proved a great success. Charlie provided just the right mix of dances, both old and new, as well as showing his new boots off to perfection in a few that he danced to himself. The evening flashed by, a good indication of just how warm and friendly the event was. Lets hope there will be more of the same to come. - well done all concerned

On Saturday 20th December, we were privileged to present Glenn Rogers at the Cotton Club. Although bitterly cold outside the atmosphere inside was far from chilly - it was electric !! Glenn was outstanding playing to a packed and very appreciative audience. Everyone was in festive, party mood it showed !! The floor was full throughout the evening dancing to both the disco and to Glenn, who always seems to play just the right mix of music. Glenn was encouraged to perform several encores which ran way over last orders at the bar - but nobody really minded, and Glenn stayed around afterwards to sign autographs and copies of his latest CDs. A big Quickdraw thankyou and we sincerely hope that you enjoyed your evening with us - and we can assure you of many more to come in 2004.
